That's why every Haven formula begins with premium New Zealand whole milk, sourced from grass-fed New Zealand cows and goats. From there, every ingredient is chosen with intention, because we believe everything should earn its place.

Why whole milk?

Many formulas begin with skim milk and add fats back later. We choose a different approach. Starting with whole milk allows us to naturally retain components found in milk fat, including milk fat globule membrane (MFGM), while reducing reliance on added oils.

MFGM is a naturally occurring component of milk that's also found in breast milk and has been widely studied for its potential role in supporting cognitive development, immune function and gut health.*

It's one of the many reasons we choose whole milk as the foundation of every Haven formula.

Understanding A2

Milk naturally contains a protein called beta-casein, which exists in two main forms: A1 and A2. Most conventional cow's milk contains a mixture of both.

Emerging research suggests that A2 protein may be digested differently - and more gently for some people - than milk containing both A1 and A2 proteins.

That's why some families choose an A2 cow's milk if they're looking for a naturally gentle alternative.

Our A2 cow's milk comes from carefully selected New Zealand herds that naturally produce only the A2 beta-casein protein. Every herd is genetically tested to ensure consistency.

Goat's milk is naturally A2, meaning every Haven goat formula also begins with an A2 milk source.
