We used to have three stages, stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3, which were based on your baby's age. 

We've now simplified these into two formulas: one for 0-12 months and one for 12+ months.


Why? We know that feeding your baby in their first year comes with enough to think about, without needing to navigate different formula stages.


Instead of needing to move between stages halfway through their first year, you'll now have one formula designed to support your little one from birth through to their first birthday.

Why have you simplified your feeding stages?

We know the first year of your baby's life comes with enough to think about. Because our Stage 1 formula has always been suitable right through to 12 months, we've simplified our feeding stages to reflect that, rather than asking families to switch formulas partway through the year.

Is the nutrition changing?

The answer depends on which Haven formula you're using.

For A2 Cow, our new 0–12 Months formula is our existing Stage 1 formula, just with a new name and tin. Our previous Stage 1 and Stage 2 formulas had slightly different nutrient levels, but these differences don't mean your baby needs to switch formulas at 6 months. Our Stage 1 formula has always been suitable right through to their first birthday.

For Goat, we've brought our Stage 1 and Stage 2 formulas together into one new 0–12 Months formula, designed to support your baby from birth right through to their first birthday. You may notice some small differences in the appearance or texture of the powder, but it's made with the same care and commitment to quality you've always known from Haven.

So why don't babies need two different stages?

From around 6 months, your baby begins exploring solid foods alongside their usual milk feeds. As their diet gradually becomes more varied, they're getting nutrients from both formula and food, rather than formula alone.

That's why a single formula designed for the whole first year can support their nutritional needs without needing to switch between two different stages.

One less change to think about, and a little more simplicity for you.

Do I need to finish my current tin before changing?

There is no need to switch early, continue using your current tin as normal. When it's time to buy again, simply choose the stage recommended for your child's age.

Why did Haven have three stages before?

When Haven was first developed, three feeding stages reflected the way infant formula was commonly structured across the category. As we've reviewed our range, we recognised that asking families to switch formulas at 6 months didn't make feeding any simpler. Because our Stage 1 formula is suitable throughout your baby's first year, we've simplified our feeding stages to remove an unnecessary change for families.

Why am I seeing different packs in different stores?

During the transition, you may see both the old and new stage names on shelf while  retailers sell through existing stock. Both are current Haven products. Simply choose the stage that's right for your child's age. 

What if my baby is already over 6 months?

That's absolutely fine. If your baby is under 12 months, simply choose 0-12 Months when you're ready to buy your next tin.
