What does modern motherhood mean to you?
Modern motherhood to me is raising children with the tools to thrive in today’s world. I want them to be courageous. I want them to be fearless. I want them to love themselves, and I want them to love where they came from.
You’re about to become a mum of two. What has surprised you most about this pregnancy compared to your first?
I think what has surprised me the most is how much I just trust myself. In my first pregnancy, I was so fearful of the unknown. This time around, I feel like I trust myself so much more.
How has becoming a mum changed the way you see yourself outside of motherhood?
Being a mum has changed how I see myself outside of motherhood in so many ways. I obviously have my hard days, but these days I really look at myself and I’m like, wow, you are literally growing children from nothing.
What has Micah taught you that you never expected to learn from your child?
He’s taught me just how beautiful the world is through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the first time. He’s never experienced the things I experience every day before, and seeing the world through his eyes has made me see it differently too.
If Micah could describe you in three words, what would you hope they would be?
I would hope that he would say that I’m fun, that I’m strong, and that I just have so much love to give.
What’s a small family moment you know you’ll remember forever?
A family moment that we do every day, that is just a small thing but I think I’ll remember for the rest of my life, is that Micah makes me a coffee with his dad every single morning.
What do you hope your children will know about their childhood when they grow up?
Motherhood looks so different on everyone, but I just hope that when my kids grow up, they know that they are just so loved, and that I gave them everything that I could.
What does family mean to you?
Family really is everything, and I just want to be the best mum that I can be.
